Frequently Asked Questions
Liz's immediate family lives in Texas. Sean's parents live in Kansas. Our friends live in states from New York to California and from Florida to Michigan. So since most people attending would have to travel, we wanted to choose a fun location our guests could enjoy in addition to our wedding. We both love the outdoors and the mountains and Colorado is central to everyone. Plus Sean felt Colorado was a good place to witness the splendor of God's creation as we enter our covenant with God.
Liz says I'm working on it and its true. I'm work on opening Liz's eyes to the reality of her blessings. : ) Renting a car will give you the maximum flexibility and mobility. However, inexpensive shuttles are available from the Denver airport to the wedding area. Convenient public transportation around town and between towns is also available although they don't run all night. Also the towns are small so walking is a viable mode of transportation to many attractions. We'll also provide a shuttle for our guests the day of the wedding to get back and forth between activities.
There's pros and cons. So consider these things: Shuttle is free. Shuttle stops are everywhere and buses make stops every half hour. The bus schedule runs from 5:45 am till 11:00pm. It takes about 1/2 hour to travel between Frisco and Breck. So it is relatively convenient. BUT the ride between Breckenridge and Keystone is a bit long, its about 1 and 1/2 hours.
The reception is being held at a restaurant at an altitude of 11,400 ft. Altitude sickness is something we have been warned to be concerned about. It can happen to anyone (even the very fit). There are precautions you can take to minimize the likelihood of having to deal with this. Click here to get more information...
If you'll be in Colorado for much of the week before the wedding, Breckenridge may be more convenient since many of the activity meeting locations will be there. Also...Sean, myself and our immediate families will be staying in Breckenridge. But if you'll be in Colorado just Saturday and Sunday, Keystone may be more convenient since that's where we are having the reception.
Good question! We haven't decided yet. Any good suggestions? Liz had her heart set on going to Greece, but sources have told us its too hot and smelly in August. (7/10) We made a decision, we're going on an Alaskan cruise.
Another good question. We don't have a place yet. Liz has started looking at housing in the part of the state roughly half way between Dow Corning and Daimler Chrysler.
